First attempts
the plan is to restart the project again, use a white base coat, then use a blue mid layer, add the pin stripe 3mm tape, then a black final coat few coates, then remove the tape, add clear coat, I am hoping to achieve the speed blocks as not visible until the sun light hi lights them..
don't know if I should use the double liner or the single liner

Primer and yellow base added
metallic black
just for the hell of it, I offered it up to the TDM, it will not go on the TDM as the panel is too badly damaged. plus the colour does not match

I didn't know before i started painting, but if you put the piece you want to paint on a table, the drivegas/pressurised air will actually blow away the paint on the edges close to the table surface. Especially when using an air-gun.
To get a nice even coat even along the edges you need it off the ground. Word of advice for the other budding painters in here.
You being the airbrush artist, should try giving the speedblocks more of a 3-d effect so they 'float' over the yellow colour.
I wanted that on mine originally, but had no idea how to do it, slight shadow on 2 sides maybe?

here is the idea using fishnet tights,
after shading applied.
I was thinking on the side panel placing a skull on it, like the one I airbrushed onto my kids lid.
I know someone will ask why, the answer is just cause I can maybe turn it into a flaming skull

what to paint by the air slot,
only thing I messed up on painting the flames coming off the skull, bugger
washed off the skull and started again.
what to do, flames...real flames multiple layer were used

no patience, this one has only taken me about 10 mins to spray and only 5 mins to make an outline stencil. It took me longer to clean the airbrush than it did to spray the image. however I think I got about 1hr left on it.
The hood was sprayed using a set of french curves.

unforunately I do not have use of a vynal cutter/printer that would allow text to be cut out prior to spraying, the yellow and pink is ease but its the lettering. If you want I can ask a few of the lads on the airbrush website I frequent, however there might be a copyright issue with the design. But if we can find the original artist and ask the question you never know the answer. it could be yep no problem of it could be No.
Some of the lads charge quite high prices for guitar artworks.
using masking tape to produce the letters is a way out of it but the edges tend to feather up a bit.
I will have a look for you on Facebook. to see the guitar in full. could you PM me with your surname, if I did a search on AndyR god knows how many andys I will have to search through.
