Hi all,

I have been absent and bikeless for a good few years but that may change.........more of that later.

However, with the rescue of my leathers and helmet from the loft I am reminded that in the week I sold my much loved 850 the top visor trim on my lid broke at one end.

It is a plastic strip, doubled for most of its length with moulded lugs at either end which locate it in the helmet. I went off to the Caberg website where they no longer list the Trip as it is too old (I have no concerns about the quality of the lid, despite the age) However, the picture on the Konda listing looks identical: https://cabergcares.co.uk/product/caberg-visor-rubber-trim-upper-konda/

Hoping this was the case I contacted Caberg and asked the question, their response was:

"With regards to your enquiry, unfortunately, we no longer have any stock of the Caberg Trip visor trims I’m sorry to say and because the Trip has been discontinued for several years, they are no longer made so we can’t obtain one. It’s not the same one as the Konda I’m afraid."

Now, they should know and I wouldn't like to contradict an expert but I thought I should ask a few people in the real world if they had any experience or knew where I could get one that will fit.

Sorry to return to the wonders of this forum with a tedious details enquiry and not something a little more exciting, I shall try harder next time.

Cheers all, Barney.

PS, thinking 900, luggage and cheapish...

Have you tried ebay. There are a few ads for visors for the trip.

Welcome back and hope you get a nice 9'er.

Epirb,  welcome back and it's yew're round!  I had a similar issue in 2018 when i needed the internal skull cap for my Schuberth C2 only to be told the parts cud no longer be obtained. In fairness the importer and a few helmet specialists really tried to get one fir me but failed.  I'd almost resigned meself to the fact  i'd hafta buy a new lid when the part turned up on Ebay in Germany.  I too am not concerned at the fact my lid is prolly quite old so i was glad i persevered and got the parts required.  I reckon yule find a noice 900 with all the goodies easy enuf.

Cheers for ll the thoughts.

I thought I had scored at SMC last week, they took my money and everything. Then they emailed and told me that their supplier didn't have any. I knew that but their website said they had one in stock didn't it?

The hunt goes on!

I am hoping that if I pop this confession at the bottom of a long dead and tedious post that it will largely go unnoticed but I will feel better for having confessed.....

My absence from the world of TDM continues, I was in need of wheels and a tool for south coast communing and load carrying and something beginning with H and ending with onda came along for £1400 just to really come clean it also begins with D and ends with eauville.

All in all, not the most enlivening ride but it is a tool for a job at the moment, the 900 will have to wait twelve months or so I reckon, see if I end up making a living at this game!

I'll be lurking.....

Cheers, Barney.

Oh, by the way, I mended the trim with araldite.....

sounds interesting,  yep that south coast can be choked right up with tin cans.
