Cos it gets used as a daily commuter in all weathers the amount of crap that gets flicked up is getting annoying.
Although it's better since the top box went on that now gets covered in grit, and the lock has jammed / gotten stiff on a couple of occasions.
Might consider a sliding affair so I can lift it up in the summer months...?!

Hi Idle,
Check out my avatar pic... Had to be trimmed IMO, but then I no longer do wet riding... ;-)
BTW; it definitely benefits from a good clean up and a coat of black satin over the std bare black plastic mudguard/fender...

Broke a lug on the side panel when puting it back on (was just about to put a bit of grease on it as well......impatient), so back together tomo to see what it really looks like
Got the original indicators back on as well now. Seem to stick out a lot!!. May be looking for some stubby ones....

About the indicators, I think some bikes have 2 different lengths, front are longer than rear, or vici-verki.

My indicators that I inherited with the bike are identical to the fronts. They look brand new so assumed that they were the originals removed when the bike was new and luggage etc fitted, but may have been obtained later......dunno.
These ones look like a nice match to the originals, except shorter http://cgi.ebay.co.u...#ht_1951wt_1182

She insists on following me everywhere....until she gets really cheesed off and then disappears!!
The tennis rackets were chucked from the shed clearout, ready for the charity shop. I grabbed em on way up garden in case they may make a good template for the curve I was cutting from the bike. The other stuff is just a very small part of my collection of junk that is collected on my travels that 'may' come in useful one day!!

The ebay wans look like they might be smaller. Had a look at the parts fiche and there's deffo 2 diff lengths.
I did fit small uns to mine but swapped back to originals as I felt the front wans weren't as noticeable as I wudda liked 'em to be, too close to the headlights methinks.
