Long time no see

I have decided to put the 900 back on the road. I've been missing it. It's been sat in the corner of the garage and it needs the forks rebuilding.

So, does anyone have any experience with those cheap stanchions you can get off ebay? or am I better off getting the originals re chromed?

Noticed a few names from the past, well done you for sticking with it.

Phil pots have a good name, I had a pair of xt600e forks straightened by them, dropped them off on the way past in the company van and collected later on the way back, hard chroming is much longer as they have a job list and the process is much slower but I was well chuffed with the service.

Thanks Adam, Snowbird

That's two votes for  A.M.Philpot.

I've just had look at their website and it doesn't say anything about fork rebuilds, will they do a full re chrome and rebuild?

Just so you know I'm live in Liverpool, so if anyone knows of somewhere more local that would be great.

ETA. Just followed the links from A.M.Philpot and its taken me to Pitted Forks website

I don't think they do rebuilds just sort the stantions, the rebuild isn't hard just use oem seals as pattern tend to leak in a short life.

I'm just being lazy lol

I'm doing great, thanks for asking. Just being lazy. Would be nice just to slot the forks back in with no messing about.  I've got myself an FJR1300 at the moment, great for touring two up. Fast and comfy but it's a tank, the TDM is much better for more normal stuff.

Thanks for that. Just had a look and the price is similar to having the originals rechromed.

A.M. Philpot (Pitted Forks) will do a full re-build & re-chrome i had this option, they will pickup from you and deliver back. Took six weeks but once returned just slotted in and they are awesome, just need to sort the rear end now.

Hi Adam, what was the cost for the rebuild and re-chrome if you don't mind me asking, as they only have a price for the re-chrome on their website?
