Help please. My headlights went out last night. Fuse is ok so I assume it's the headlight relay but I've looked around the bike, on here, google, JBX's site and can't find anything that tells me where it is and what it looks like. The wiring diagram shows the relay for OCE to be on nearside next to ECU but I can't see anything that behaves in the way I'd expect the relay to behave. Theres a small black unit with 2 terminals but both are powered when ignition is on (not engine).

It is to the right of the ecu . It only triggers when engine is started .

Hi TKH!

The ideal is to check up:

1) To generate doubt should not replace the fuse, seeking new test.
2) Inspect the inside of the fuse box to see if there are broken wire underneath the fuse contacts. The contacts are not Hulk? (green)
3) Inspect the connecting plugs to the bulbs.
4) Inspect the relay - you may already have found it.
5) Post Rallyst - bulbs are good?
6) It's rare, but I've seen the crack in the weld wire inside the switch that turns the headlight on the right wrist.
7) Inspect possible broken wire between the button and the headlight bulbs

8) Any member carpe once said: - Prayer Rug :P

I hope you find just the focus of the problem and lowest cost. :drinks:

Cheers

Use the Diag Mode to check the headlight relay.
You should hear the tick noise the relay makes when properly working.
Highbeam bulb also works through the relay, except when using the pass switch.

Thanks everyone. I've found the relay at the back of the nearside behid and rearward of the ECU (if anyone else has problems finding it).

Sidarta
Fuses good and no oxidisation (hulk - I love that one!), the bulbs and bulb connections are good and clean, if the relay isn' t at fault I'll check out the wiring and switches.

JBX, thanks, that might save a few quid!
