I more curious, without actual reason to ask but maybe others will find interesting:

XTZ1200 has same engine concept as TDM900. What could possible be direct swap? Im thinking maybe:

Fuel injectors with better atomization

Rear shock looks simliar. It would be ultra god if can fit 900.

I know air filters can be done.

Sorry for crap english.

Not knocking the idea but the 1200 engine isn't that much better than the TDM900. Don't think it'd be worth the trouble.

I think it would be a great idea, and 120bhp stock, with a remap and binning all the restrictive stuff off it its should breath well and be a torque monster.

However the firing order is pretty much where the similarities end. I looked at doing it but its certainly not a straight swap. there will be a load of work to do to adapt the frame to accept the engine, plus you would have to do something with the shaft drive output. I have not physically checked but it may be a case of just removing the primary drive and fitting a sprocket on the output shaft. but its difficult to say without actually having a go.
