I just bought a 1992 TDM. The guy who owned it put a electric fuel pump on it. I wanted to go back to stock. So I got a new OEM fuel pump. Pulled tank off and the petcock on the tank has a three outlets, and on the tank there is a R and M marked. On the regular petcock there are three outlets. The fuel pump has three nipples. Where do the fuel lines and other lines go. I got two manuals and they don't show anything. Help

I'm not a mk1 owner, but does this parts fiche help? It shows pump, lines, petcock, pickup.

I'm going by memory here so dont take it as gospel.  If its the original tap (petcock), the inlet on the back is for reserve which goes into the reserve outlet of the tank. The top pipe of the tap(petcock) is the feed to the pump where you can splice in an inline filter, and the bottom one is the normal inlet from the tank. As far as i can remember there's only two outlets on the back of the tank. One for reserve and one for normal. There is another pipe on the tank but its further towards the middle of the tank. Thats the drain pipe for the filler neck.

As for the pump, if its original spec, the pipe that sits on top is for the vaccum, the other two are inlet from the tap (petcock) and outlet to the carbs. Not sure which is which but it may be obvious by the way they're pointing.

Sorry its a bit vague but it was a while ago when i had them all apart for new fuel pipes. Hopefully someone can offer more definite answer.

Vacuum to the bottom one the covered ones are for fuel pipes and they should have arrows on signifying flow direction

Yup, there's a brass spigot on the carb to engine manifold.  Yours will most likely have a cap/cover on it.

No black cap on left side. I have looked and looked. Is it on the carb, or where do I look.

There are two hoses off each carb manifold in the FRONT. Both are plugged. Is this it and if so which one do I use ?

This is what you see with the carbs removed, you can clearly see the vac pipe connected to the spigot.
