Tracy tools do left hand drill bits, once a drill bites it will prolly just come out.

Daaang ! How the heck did that happen ? Dodgy bolt ?
Sounds like SB's plan is prolly the best way to attack this. I guess there's the risk of getting some swarf in the engine but I can't think of any other way other than head removal, unless you could get summat welded to it.

A small bit of swarf won't do any real harm in the cooling system, different matter in the oil, it would likely just sit in the bottom of the water jacket harmlessly, I would imagine if the head broke that easily the rest will come out long before the drill breaks through as any torque you had on it went when the head came off.

Is it leaking dabs ! just had mine out on Wednesday and the amount of coolant that came out was pitiful, maybe a spoonful, that after draining from the main bolt..

Think the TDM might have to wait a few weeks until I feel like attempting that bolt.

It's gonna be tricky getting the drill centred spot on, what with the position and angle of the bolt hole. You thinking there might not be enough bolt remaining in the hole ? I forget what diameter the bolt is, M6 ?

I've used these to get centred, used for door hinges normally, i've also changed the drill bit out but either way it should get you started..
Woops link helps.

Not too worried at the mo as only had this week really to use the boike and couldn't as I broke it, so there are more urgent things I have broken this week that need attention. :0)
You thinking there might not be enough bolt remaining in the hole ? I forget what diameter the bolt is, M6 ?
I took a bolt ooot of another barrel and it looked aboot 10mm long, so not much bolt in hole to play with...assuming this bolt is the right length.
Yes it's M6, nice and small and fragile muhahahaha!!!!

BTW, I had a brake pipe burst on an MOT brake test before. I was peed but the examiner reminded me of the busy junction on to a fast main road on leaving his station. Oops!

Go on the which trick did you use? Not the old "glue a bolt head over the broken bit and sell it quick" tactic I hope....

To err is human, to make a proper feck up you need a french car designer! (or a computer)
