On Tuesday 28th, on the way back, is anyone stopping overnight en route?

After we get off the ferry we may be hitting M25 in peak period, and we thought about avoiding this and maybe stopping somewhere like Swanley in Kent...

Any views?

Pete

I spoke to KCIN yesterday - the plan is to txt him when we're near Dunkirque to meet up nearby.

Pete - There is a good pub (The Green Man) that serves great food not too far off route at Hodsoll Street Green Man linky It's about 10 min from the M20 at Wrotham.

Just checked the opening times for the Green Man and they don't open until 6pm. Another possibility is the Malta Inn, just off jcn 6 of the M20. It's also a Premier Inn if anybody wanted to stay over en route.

OK chaps I'm docking in Calais at 15.10 cet, not sure who wants to meet up but a suggestion would be to go along the A16 in France then turns to the A18 once over into Belgium a few miles into Belgium there is a motorway service area we could meet there around 16.00hrs. Would that suit you Trev n Moose?

What route were you thinking of taking Nick? I know the services you're talking about.

I had in mind to go via A25 (N225/E42) past Lille. There's a service area just before Steenvorde (1st one you come to after turning off the A16) which we'd arrive at about 4pm (ish).

That said, a motorway is a motorway, so it makes little difference to me!

LOL. Actually, it'll probably be nearer 4:30 by the time we get there.

There's a fuel stop in Eupen just before the German border where I normally stop 'cause they do good pastries! Also, I don't know if there's another before Simmerath/Monschau, so probably a good idea to fill up there and then we'll only need one other fuel stop before Masserberg (probably).
