I have a number of issues affecting my '92 850 currently and welcome advice/suggestions.
First is that the battery is not charging, having checked the obvious stuff I ohmed the stator (per the service manual) and its seems OK (bouncing between .3 and .4) I am guessing the rectifier is shot as that seems fairly common. Do I need to use the OE part or is there a better alternative?
Second is that when I run the bike up over say 4000 rpm it starts to stumble and gets worse the higher the rpm. Could this be related to the battery not being able to keep up (even when fully charged) or is it more likely a carb problem or (gulp) the ignitor. The service manual really doesnt address this issue.
Mid to high rpm stumbling

I have new high output regulator on order, thanks for info. Once installed I'll hope it cures the other ills.......
