Post MOT ......

H7 Led lamps fitted (bulbs).

Correct focal length & light source size

Testing over 2x 300 miles overnight trips on a mixture of A, B & M class roads in the near future.

I'll be taking the H7 halogens with me in case the LED are NFU/difficult for other road users.

Search banggood for C6 LED Graham.

It is possible to move/remove the mounting plate. I removed them to put my 8mm clip spacers on, this also enabled the correct repositioning of the mount regarding orientation and distance from the light source. I must point that the lamp mounts were in the correct focal position b4 moving them.

I may experiment with mount rotation  ;)

Where are you planning on Testing these bulbs ?
More interested in LED vs Halogen - on a mk 2 any improvement is welcome

As you already know further North in Summer we don't really have DARK
NIGHTS so its just an issue in the Colder month's ( so most of the time then )

Yeah our days are longer than those southern ones.........

Initial testing will be in the small hours between 23:00 and 03:00 ish some time next week, between Durham City and Farnborough (Hampshire). After that I'll be testing them in FR n IT. Probably not full moon so should be full dark yarrrooooooohhhh

I had 35w HID in my 4tx - a lot better than stock lamps.

So I’ve just received a pair of these......how do you remove the mounting plate? I’ve tried twisting and it turns, but doesn’t come off!

For me, gently turn/pull with pliers worked.

Update

High beam is v good & much better than the previous LED  I had.

Dipped beam is OK - same beam pattern (not a suprise) but seems to light up the road better (not farther), than the HID i had fitted. No angry feedback from otgher road users so far.

Cooling fans seem effective so far.

Good report! Ordered a set from Banggood, preparing for the dark late summer and autumn...
