Its me again.

Anyone know where i can get a set of brake caliper bolts for my X Trail.

Mine are very tired & I'm struggling to source any on the internet.

They are the very fine threaded ones that bolt the calibob onto the sliding pins. :good:

You talking about the front callipers? Thems the rears.
Let me know the sizes, got a few laying around at work. Length is the prob, I'm guessing 8mm dia.

Thanks Catteeclan but I managed source a full service pin kit including rubbers & bolts from a place called Frentech. :good:

Yes they are M8 fine. I'm amazed you cant buy them. Called in at two car parts suppliers yesterday & they both said they come with the pads. I disagreed & asked them to check & they don't.

Never mind. Need to look after my car as much as the bikes now. Been neglecting it for years.

Sorry to stick me oar in but as we're on the XTrail questions, has anyone swapped out the SCV (suction control valve) on the fuel pump (2.2dCi).  The wife's is running like a bag of crap, particularly when cold, and the distilled wisdom of the internet forums points to the SCV being a common failure point.

Thanks Matt, I'd seen that guide, and the part can be got off eBay for about £55. So I'm gonna go for it.

Let us know how you get on

Well, I've done it, that forum post was very handy (in fact I already had it bookmarked from previous research).  Awkward little sod to get to, being halfway down the back of the block, so you have to stand on a stool.  Plus you're doing everything with the left hand.  Also as it's a slightly older model (if memory serves it's EURO3 not EURO4), I was able to do the pedal-press ECU reset procedure.  Remains to be seen how it goes when it's cold, but my test run (including what my dear friend Trevini likes to call an 'Italian Tuneup', or a damn good thrashing), it's running well.  The outgoing part looked suspiciously clean so I wonder if it's been done in the past.  At least if it doesn't help we've only lost £63 rather than the hundreds Nissan would have charged.  As I understand it Nissan would look to replace the whole fuel pump, which is an engine out job.  Next - get my bloomin' TDM back out there!
