As I wasn't able to procure any Givi pannier rails (new or used) for my recent trip to Scotland I decided to use a Kriega bag I bought about 6 years ago but never used.

It worked really well and as it is a stuff sack I got more into the 20 litre one I have (US20) than one of my 22 litre panniers. As I had it strapped across the pillion seat in front of the top box I did have trouble getting my leg over but less of my personal problems............................

However it did stretch some of the stitching which I thought was due to me using it across the seat meaning a couple of the fixings were stretched at an angle and it still looked like it would be waterproof. So I emailed their contact address, (more to ask if I'd used it incorrectly and whether it was still usable than complain) and after exchanging photos they agreed to a warranty replacement - I hadn't realised it came with a 10 year guarantee.

Another complication was that the supplier (Bykebitz) has gone under so I returned it directly to them on Saturday and got a message today that a new one is being delivered tomorrow.

.

OK, they are expensive now and I had a problem but it does feel a quality piece of kit with lots of well thought out features and I'd definitely use it again.

Another recommendation goes out the Royal Mail tracked 48 service - I booked it Friday night, my postie picked it up Saturday and it was delivered first thing this morning - £4.35 for a small parcel up to 2kg
