Hi all,

It's time to change the tires on my TDM 900. I was thinking on something more "trail", I don't want to do off-road, this bike is not done for that, but in a lot of small routes here in the forest it can be gravel and other dirty things. Also some easy trails could be better done with a more trail oriented tire.

Someone do have tried the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR ? they have a 18" front with the exact size 120/70 for our bike. But the problem is the rear, it don't have a 160/60 R17. So the option can be a 150/70 R 17 M/C 69V M+S TL or a 170/60 R 17 M/C 72V M+S TL, What do you think could fit better ?

The tire: https://www.pirelli....rpion-rally-str

Or do you recommend another trail tire for the rear ?

Thanks!

I plan to get those when my Bridgestone road tires finally give in. I'll be very interested in your experience if you choose to get them.

I have read a lot of positive feedback about this tires. They seem really good on and off road. My only concern is about size: 150/70 or 170/60. @ratsom tested the 170/60 but I think it would be better the 150/70, but not 100% sure.

https://www.tacomawo...70r17-170-60r17

The 150 is a bit bigger, with more height, this can help a bit with suspension. the 170 is wider but the horse power of the tdm are not a lot so the extra wide gain will not give any benefices. The 150 will be also better to turn the bike.

What is your impression about size ?

My Ten came with those. Excellent on the road, no good off road if its a bit damp. Showing wear already after 2k miles on a less powerful bike. Won't last long on a TDM. Me thinks! Look the business.
