I was perusing sites referring to GK Design - Yamaha's long-time bike designers - when I came across Kerr's designs for Yam. They include a TDM900 which is, er, different. But is rather lovely. Yamaha are now building up their own design facility.

The 900 front end sides are ahead of their time, that sort of sculpting has only appeared over the last decade or so

That's a very sporty looking rising position on that 900.

 

Interesting that his original 850 design had the exhausts higher, I'm glad they decided to drop them down as it makes luggage fitment a lot easier.
