Just seen this. I remember being quite surprised seeing the first Piaggio 3 wheeler scooter coming towards me. It sort of threw me a bit as you think [ something not right there & then realise!! ]

This is going to have some road presence. Wonder how wide it would feel on the road.

Undecided if I like it or not............

Damned, that's an ugly creation. And why would you want to have the forks outside the front wheels? Why not try to keep the overall width down instead, like all other 3-wheelers on the market.

After a great deal of thought (1sec) and scientific debate of the full committee (me on my own) the unanimous decision is its a pile of crap!

I wonder how much extra weight that's carrying over the 2 wheeled MT09?

Just bean reading about it today. Forks on the outside to maximise lean.. No doubt weighs a ton but I love it. Cornering grip and braking should be phenomenal.

I remember reading a test of a Piaggio MP3 years ago where it was pitted against a CBR 600 on a wet kart track. The MP3 trounced the CBR through the corners. I've been waiting for a 500cc Tricity to be produced, an ideal commute scoot for me. Looks like I might just have to settle for a full phat 850 scoot. I can live with that.

The million dollar question. "Does it wheelie Mr?"

Yeah, I saw that, too. One wheel to many IMHO. Time will tell. I think these designs and concept's will become mainstream in a few years. If safety can be increased without losing the fun it's got to become popular.

I wonder if they have stoppie control?

  Not sure. Have to say I would love to take the three wheeler out for a test ride and see how it all feels.

Ditto. I'm fascinated by the concept. Fingers crossed Yamaha feel positive enough to produce it.

If three-wheelers were going to take off, wouldn't we have all bought those Dutch ones ten years ago? You know, the ones that were on Top Gear.

A mate is considering one of these 3 wheeled bikes, as he doesn't have a bike license and would like to give it all a try.

:)

Yeah, I've done the IAM. And yeah, I recommend it (any so-called 'advanced training' come to that; not just IAM): A low cost training course based on the system used by the police, which is largely common sense once pointed out, making one smoother, quicker and safer. What's not to like? And why would one not want to tell others?  :hide:

I think they have a broad appeal beyond purist bikers. Urban transport, older riders beginning to lose confidence in their physical ability, big bikes for little people, an entry level for new riders etc.

Down here in Un Zud, the Tricity is classed as a car. Go figure.

The latest electronic gizmo's are being lauded and accepted without a blink and they are on bikes to protect us from ourselves, but, combined they do not offer the added safety of an extra wheel. The other side of safety is extreme shenanigans for the mere mortal. Well, I hope so. That concept would look great with guns on it. Now, who do we know with a militarised TDM?
