I recently put my 900 back on the road and managed a couple of care free weeks of ride outs.

One night there was a strong smell of fuel and opened the garage to find him sat in a pool of fuel!

Tank off and it appears the connector for the fuel pump hose has a leak. Unfortunately the housing for the pump isn't available on its own so its an entire new part 5ps-13907-00 at £777!!!

Yam dealer had said it was one of those years they just didn't make parts to fit multiple bikes and this makes them as rare as hens teeth!

How's your luck!

Ouch!  The pump from the R6 or R1 (different pipe diameters, can't remember which is which though) was quite a common mod for Mk1's so could be worth a look at.  Alternatively I fitted a no brand pump from e-bay to my wife's XJ600 which works fine, but someone else on here (Bjørge?) fitted a similar one and reckoned it was really noisy.

Hah... Thanks all. Great site here and wish I found it years ago. Found a new boxed one for £400 so guess I should be happy! 😉

Tried to reverse compatibility the part to see what else may fit.... Not much! It's not the pump but the plastic tube as shown in pic.... Just they don't sell it as an individual part without the whole pump and housing!

So is the 2002 pump different from later ones?

Could you make something up with a few threaded adaptors?

This asap-supplies have loads of threaded fittings in lots of sizes and materials, maybe a running nipple/elbow/hosetail.
