Hi,

 

Had a 3VD ten years ago and loved it, went down the TRX route...... recently bought what looks like a very low miles 1991 3VD. Standard everything.

 

It's got 5500 miles on it. I've got a lot of MOT history so it may be true? 

 

It was running a bit lumpy and hesitant below 3000rpm. My old TRX was the same and that was fixed with a carb clean and new emulsion tubes etc

 

I've had the carbs cleaned, tank cleaned, tubes and needles checked, changed the coil, reset float height.

 

 

It's better but still has an annoying 'miss' when held at any revs and still hesitates a little.

 

 

Any ideas where to look next?.... cdi?.....

I was going to say Carb rubbers, 

 

What are both sets like? Inlet manifold and from airbox? 

 

A lot of the 3vd guys (including myself) have modded the airbox rubbers with silicon instead which gives a much better seal, and considerably cheaper than buying new rubbers. 

 

I'd also check plugs/HT leads etc. Clean/replace and also wrap new HT leads with self amalgamating tape.

Thanks for the replies, Carb rubbers are old but looked ok(not saying they are)

 

Do you have any info on the silicon mod, sizes, sources etc?
