This looks like a grand day out. Weather forecast is reasonable and I hear tell the roads thereabouts are of a high quality. Linky-dink. Facebook linkydink

Looks like it does Pete. https://www.tramway..../eat-and-drink/

Just noticed, says admission is £16.50.  Anyone know if we have to pay the admission to see the bikes ? :unsure2:  Don't think I'll be going in the museum if we do. :hide:

Could still meetup at 'The Loaf' in Crich for a brekky if anyone wants to ? It opens at 9.30am.

How much? At that price I'm going to give it a miss and save me pennies. I see it's run in conjunction with the Vincent Owners Club, they're clearly trying to over value the show; like they do with their bikes :notfunny: .So please accept my apologies chaps, but I won't be there.

No probs Ian,

Are you still going to the 'show'?

Might have a run out anyway, but if it is £16 to look at the bikes, I'll just have an ice cream and pootle off somewhere else.

No, I'll give it a miss.  You'll have to pay the £16.50 entrance fee to get to the ice-cream Pete.

Think I'll have a ride up there anyway, if only to voice my displeasure at the extortionate prices!!!
Not that it'll make any difference, but at least I will have had my say!
Probably end up at Matlock and see the 'real' bikes on show there.

You do get free entry for a year once you've been robbed though, Daps.  Not sure I could find a tram that interesting.

Nah. specially since I went to miele for noubt. Got a free coffee. had a look at the miele motorboike 2.25hp from 1940 and took some pictures of their vacuum cleaners for me 5 year old nephew (oddness is apparently hereditary). All free!

Give em a few weeks to forget me and oil be back. :-)

We went!!.......................well, we went as far as the entrance to the 'Tramway museum'.

It was, indeed, £16.50 per person to get in!!!!!

Nice guy on the barrier explained you were paying the entry for the Tramway museum, the bikes were there for you to view 'for free'.........so I said if I promised not to look at the Trams, could I go in and look at the bikes 'for free'? Guess what he said?

Anyway, quite a few other bikers went as far as the barrier, and promptly turned round.

So, we went to Matlock Bath, had a nice cuppa, and a mooch around at the bikes there.........quite a few tasty bikes too.......in particular a Triumph Thruxton Special, wish I'd had the camera, it was a beaut!

All in all, a lovely day for a rideout, the Peak District is a great place to ride, shame the Tramway place was so expensive, but it didn't spoil the day.

Doesn't surprise me hearing bikes turning away, you can go to Squires for 'nowt and there are hundreds of bikes to look at.

£16.50 is too rich. It turns out an old mate of mine is friends with the organiser of the Crich show. I gather he'd had a fair bit of 'feedback' about the price before the event, but his hands were tied - the Tramway Museum set the price.

I had a very pleasant day doing 170 miles around North Wales. Cost me a tank of fuel, although there was additional cake related expenditure :P .
