It's a couple of weeks since I got back from 3000km tour of North west Spain (Picos again and Atlantic coast) and into Portugal. I am still editing several hundred stills and many, many minutes of movie, but have already posted lots on my Facebook page.

Please feel free to have a look and any comments ( too late for advice now ) will be appreciated.

Action cam was just a vivitar from Argos at £79.00 and gave (to my eyes) excellent image from its vantage point above the pilot light on fairing. Movies are still proving difficult to edit ( Windows 10 "photo" ?) but a couple have gone up OK.

Weather on Atlantic coast was changeable (!) but sun shone once we got into Portugal

Road surfaces were varied to say the least from empty EU-funded motorways to single track cobbled tracks on mountainsides

If anyone is headed there this year ... you will NOT be disappointed

Not able to post pictures on here like in the past .... ??

Headed there September Pete. Intend to get lost all day in the hills and find fresh digs of an evening. Covered most corners of Europe but only ever flip flopped in to and out of Portugal from Spain so looking forward to a good rural rummage.

My pal, Fred, does all the planning and research (in November/December) and came up with some great roads.

Incidentally he has just changed his bike ( to get lighter weight) to a Kawasaki Versys 650 Grand Tourer ... excellent machine

We must've been there at the same time. I clocked up high on 4k, through France, Andorra, Spain, Portugal and back up to Dieppe. It was hot though, in the 40s. The ball on my Garmin mount melted, other balls and an arse had a lucky escape. I escaped the fires only because I decided to head north due to the heat.

You've still got plenty of space left to post up pics as attachments Pete, so the problem's not on Carpe. :unsure2:

Oooops, my previous comment saying you have plenty of space left isn't correct Pete, I was looking in the wrong area.  Looks like you're reaching the 50MB limit for attachments.  You could either manage your attachments and/or post up an album in the gallery.

Nice film !

How did you mount your camera ? On fairing ?

It was mounted on fairing front. I used the cycle helmet mount the Vivitar 4K came with, and copious amounts of twin-stick. It never budged but image is a bit shaky. I have posted pictures of mount and camera on my Facebook page.

It was a good viewpoint to see/record surrounding landscape as well as the road ahead, which was part of the objective. However I think there is little to give a sense of scale or involvement you get when you can see the cockpit area, or use a helmet mount.

I was fairly happy at this first attempt (other than taping camcorder to tank bag or rear carrier at TT), although the remote switching was a bit fiddly.

All in all good value for £79.00 from Argos
