My bike currently has this silencer fitted to SS down pipes:

http://www.delkevic....0&search=pr1828

To be honest its too loud. There wasn't much difference when I removed it and run the bike without it on just down pipes.

I have a feeling the baffels have been removed.

So what other Quieter slip on Silencers are out there that dont cost a fortune.

Measure the internal diameter of the exit pipe, and buy an appropriate 'db killer'. You might have to drill a 3mm hole under the exit piece of the exhaust to fit the retaining screw, but it must be cheaper than a new can.

You will need an angled one, but it will take a lot of the energy out of the sound, probably leave you with a nice rumble instead EG http://www.ebay.co.u...SMAAOSwz~VZoPxO

Use 'db killer' as a search clue on ebay and you'll find loads of them

It goes without saying that you should only get a stainless one or it might not last 2 seasons

Thanks for that.

I think it has something bolted in end of silencer?

I'll take it out and have a proper look tomorrow.

Hopefully its just been cut short or somthing since don't fancy the idea to drilling rivets out to re-pack it.

Delkvic do 2 that should fit one being an oversize baffel?

Maybe it already has one then. You could wrap it with some exhaust wadding and wire mesh, that takes some of the ping out of them

I have that same exhaust.  It is louder than stock, but not incredibly so.  I don't recall it having an insert.  Maybe it needs to be repacked or maybe somebody gutted it?

In hindsight, I wish I had got the longer one as it is probably a little quieter.  But I don't find it so loud it annoys anybody.  I would guess only 10-20 percent louder than stock.

Hmm Interesting it appears to have the this fitted and the inner perforated tube seems intact?

But if i take it out it stays the same volume just a bit more raspy?

I have decided to buy the longer one to see if it makes any difference. Since £25 is still cheaper than new silencer.

Is the plate on the end of the baffle intact?

Everything seems to be as it should?

Perhaps the packing has disintegrated since doesn’t look like it’s been taken apart?

Possibly. I had one of those on a Triumph Sprint and the baffle made quite a difference on it.
I may be selling a mint condition stock silencer soon if it's of any interest.

I bought a muffler off an 06 Kawasaki ZX1400.

Sounds amazing and no repacking needed.

I think I paid $45. (about 30 pounds?).

I got that quieter insert today and installed.  It seems a bit quieter, but I am sort of guessing since I am normally wear ear plugs and forgot to test them, one after another.  But I will say it sounds a lot better with the quieter baffle in - much deeper in addition to what seems like a slightly lower volume.  Thank you for the suggestion.

Fitted mine today as well. Seems deeper now and only slightly less noisy.

I've got the same one and I've had to repack it twice. Once the fine mesh burns out around the baffle tube it seems to burn through the packing quicker, especially with the baffle in. Although you'll know when the packing is mostly gone as it'll cook the rubber around the hanging bracket and it'll cost you a tenner to replace! The 350mm does look good though.

I successfully made an internal baffle for the 850 using perforated stainless tube, EG https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PERFORATED-STAINLESS-STEEL-PIPE-TUBE-EXHAUST-SILENCER-REPAIR-SECTION-32MM-76MM/131891666850?var=431574438064&hash=item1eb55b1fa2:m:mkaOdXos9mghbsxKKRrcTBw

Almost unburnable, might be able to make a sleeve to hold the wadding to the internal baffle pipe with it

Hmm The rubber around the hanging bracket is rather melted.
