Great ride out to the West Lake District on Saturday 6th July

1st two photos looking back down the valley towards Hardknott pass from the top of Wrynose pass

3rd and 4th photos from the ride down to Great Landale

Fantastic ride out for those who want to get away from the traffic, but beware, these roads are steep !

I love that road, never done it on a TDM though but I can imagine it's even better than it was on the VFR 800 and Bandit 1340 that I did it on the couple of times I was up there

If it's not comfortable change it

It's a cracking road, and there's loads of other really good stuff in the area. Did a trip up there last summer with Mark (Hartsideman) on his Tiger. I was experimenting with modes on my GoPro and the footage ended up a bit wobbly though.

This video contains content from EMI.  It is restricted from playback on certain sites. Watch on YouTube.

What's the point in having embedded video if we can't bloody see it ?  Only seem to get the problem with youtube. <_<

Damnit, pootube is becomming a pain in the arse. They've got what looks at first glance like a decent licencing model, in that they've got agreements with many record lables that you can use thier music so long as its referenced, basically free advertising for the track. However there are some issues between different countries, so some videos are blocked in countries that they're not licenced for. I assume this blocking is done through youtube's websire, so anything that's blocked anywhere gets stopped from being embedded as they can't control where the embedded site is opened.

You can play the video on Carpe, or do you mean you can view it on pootoob, Graham ? :unsure2:

Scurve, there should be quite a few videos from previous rideouts and G2G's, have a look in the Hyde Park and RTT sections. :)  We've only recently added the Ride Reports section, hence why there aren't many posts here yet.

There are lots and lots of photos in hyde park, try searching for the calendar entries topics, and also in the Gallery.

That's weird, the embedded video wouldn't play for me at work earlier, but does now at home.

Paul, apparently that stretch up Wastwater, and the place I stopped for the rather wobbly panoramic shot at 4:00, got voted the best view in Britain.  Beautiful place and living down here in the congested south I'm very jelous of those of you that have that kind of thing right on your doorstep.

Mark logged a GPS track of the route he took me on, and it's a really good tour of the area

As for ride reports, we did do one for that trip
