Oil Seals

Daft question, and I probably know the answer but here goes.
The big oil seal for changing the oil on an 850 mk.1 is 64 X 3.5
I have been supplied 65 X 3.5 due to long league times on the 64, I'm told. Would a 65 work or not.
Never having done the job before I don't know but would suspect not.
What do you guys think

Hm, gonna sit on the fence but, i've re-used my oil filter o'ring a good number of times before replacement so if it dont fit i should'nt worry so much..


Bigred mk1 R1 Calipers- Braided lines- Givi wing rack-Crash bungs- Hi vis bullets-PR2's- and a hoot to ride.

Quad 900 Silver Laser duo tech pipes-Scott oiler-Engine crash bars- Radiator mounted see me ring LED's-Datatool system 3 alarm -Centre stand- Extender fender-Renthal bars-Handle bar risers-Mirror extenders-BMW GS Handgaurds-Acumen uprated horn & Nautilus-Stainless steel Radiator guard-Givi wing rack-OEM screen-Yammy touring screen-MRA Vario-MRA Double bubble cut down for fast as fk riding-Tiger screen-Tank protector-Stomp grip panels-Optimate lead   Gone to Heaven  :sorry:

What dabbers says dickie. I dunno but given option of incorrect size or old un...oid go old un.

I normally change them every other oil change.

Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.

I've re-used o rings many times with no problems as long as they are still supple and not swollen.


Current toys: '99 XT600E, 2000 4TX, '82 Princess 30DS (where the username comes from), No longer a '03 Fazer thou.

Save the planet, it's the only one with beer!

I reused mine for 10+ yrs, finally had some leakage, a drop from time to time. Deffo no problem to reuse for a year or two
