http://web.aanet.com.....w sidecar.htm

I've been told by the missus I have to buy it(the words were "if you dont buy it, you're an idiot!". Who am I to argue with such a comment. It's not a TDM and theres no way the TDM is going, but this makes the third/fourth oufit I've had, the 4th K100 I've had and the 6th K-series thats been in the family. I got rid of the last sidecar cause of space issues, that won't happen again.

If the sidecar is as good as it looks and as good as its been described, I'm riding it home tomorrow. '87, 60,000kms only(barely run in), one owner, all docs and original bits come with it.

I wasn't even looking for one, I'd been thinking about it and a friend let me know about this one. Makes the budget a bit tight, but Scotland is still on next year.

Three wheels bite hard when they bite, I've missed every one I've sold

Neve had a go with a sidecar but a mate of mine keeps toying with the idea of buying one of those Ural 2 wheel drive outfits.

Used to know a bloke with an ancient Kwak outfit and he decided to take the sidecar off. First set of traffic light he came to he forgot to put his feet down rotflmmfao.gif

I've heard of that happening, not something I've done myself. Even swapping from a 2 wheeler to a 3 wheeler on a daily basis I've never looked like forgetting that.

If you have a go at a sidecar, you have to take time to get used it and be prepared for the way its going to behave (they have nothing in common with a normal bike handling wise). They often frighten the crap out of first time riders and I can understand that. Usually they turn left and run into something the first time they try to get the bike moving.

Me, I enjoy the assymetric brakes, drive and handling. Once mastered they are a hell of a lot of fun. Not fun dragging yourself out from under the sidecar when your mate rolls it though (first time rider).

I reckon I might keep her wink.gif

Brought the K home today, she's a goodun' very quiet and smooth and it handles pretty well too. It needs new throttle and clutch cables, they're both heavy and next weekend I'll go over it in detail, change the oils etc. I'm very comfortable working on K-bikes, can do just about anything on them.

At 350kg and 40bhp I suspect they get pissed on on the road so not too bad a comparison rotflmmfao.gif Supposedly pretty competent off the road though. Think the bike is a knock off of the old R80GS

Good luck with it AL, you could fit a load of dogs in that, my old man has a couple of beemer sidecar outfits, though they're both boxers, I was thinking of taking one to Italy next year as the girlfriend isn't happy on the back of the bike for too long.

The bike looks great fun - especially 4-up good.gif And all you need for tools & spares is a lump hammer. a shifting spanner, a sheet of corrugated iron and a length of gas piping. Let's get back to basics. banana.gif

Yep, thats the gear up that he was looking at. Unfortunatly to be legal in the UK they have to have the sidecar on the other side, there are companies that modify them for import but they have a complicated chain system instead of the direct drive to the extra wheel.
