Just got back from a 3000 mile european tour with my son and a couple of friends.     Visited Austria and the Czech Republic via France , Belgium, Germany and Holland. We visited the Audi factory for a tour and rocked up to the Triumph factory in Hinckley to see the museum and have lunch. Also saw KTM and Opel from a distance . Visited a concentration camp ( very sobering ), Hitler's Eagles Nest and the old East/West German border at Point Alpha. Visited the NSU museum, Wartburg museum and fortuitously stayed at the place where the 2018 Wartburg Car Rally started. Also had a cable car ride and visited the Pilsner Urquell brewery in Pilsner.

The 900 performed perfectly. The only maintenance needed was to tighten the Givi plate.

I bought the bike for this trip and it will now be sold so if you want a 2013 bike in gun metallic ( 21,233 miles , 12 months MOT, about £3,900 ) please get in touch  before it goes on eBay !

Cheers

I'm probably not going on a euro tour in 2019 . I have an old Fazer which I like to ride and it doesn't make sense for me to keep both so it's got to go......

It is a really nice TDM and I doubt there are many , if any , registered more recently than mine.

I am more into classic bikes nowadays and have a Kawasaki H1e  Mach III which is a 1974 500 cc two stroke triple as well as my Fazer FZS 600 which is a future classic for sure.  I took the Fazer on a trip to Italy in 2017 and it broke down so the TDM was bought for the euro tour this year.

Cheers

Oooh the new and fancy disc version - can you get single figures for fuel consumption like the H1B?

Single-handedly reviving the Wave.

The Kawasaki is petrol cooled  - I kid you not.  60 miles out of a tank full. When we have run outs in the triples club, its actually a tour via petrol stations and it takes 1.5 hours for the group to fill up.

Not sure about fancy discs . My Kawasaki's front brake is not capable of putting enough squeeze on a disc to produce any signs of  wear after 44 years !!

But they were great fun and petrol was 9 pence a litre. I've managed to keep a 1 owner (me) Z1000A2 for 40 years and the discs on that are original and unmarked for the same reason....
