test rode a bmw r1200rt and a bmw r1200 gs the other week 5 hours on each 1 and the gs was amazing! when i rode my tdm back home it felt like being on a bmx compared to the gs the extra power was great. the rt 1200 didnt feel that good at all was boring to ride even tho it had every gadget going for it there was no thrill like the tdm and it was £10,000.GS was bit cheaper and nearly ended up signing my WIFE away and geting it but paying it off would mean working weekends meaning great bike, no weekends to go on it!! so gonna stick with tdm . but GS 1200 would be the bike for me if i had the dosh, have to keep doing lottery and hoping

It's too big and heavy, I had a few hours on one and the TDM felt nice and managable afterwards.

You're not tall enuff for the adventure IMHO.
The ordinary 1200gs is a nicer bike, the only advantage of the adventure is the 33L tank, but the ordinary gs has a 200mile range anyway so that'd be my choice.

It does, but the 1200adv is just as bad, the 1150gs and 1150 adv are much nicer lookin, but they're heavier and have less power. ya can't win blink.gif

well i had a good long look at the 1200 adv on sat and it looks the bollix imo. the 1150GS is more powerful in the midrange then the 12 believe it or not, but everywhere else the 12 murders the 1150. the 1200 looks like a landrover on 2 wheels !!

I've always wanted the BMW 1150 gs (and/or 1100 gs) models. But they're too tall for me ... I'd have to settle for the 650 gs and I'm not going there!

I think their funky looks are cool.

I'll stick to me TDM900 Had a sit on the adventure at Scottish bike show and good job it was on a stand otherwise I would have been arse over tit off it never found the oxygen mask yet and the foldey out step ladders. Had a seat on the Buel not bad would not mind a afternoon on one to see if I like it although think the tank range would put me off and I just about keep upright on the TDM having been cruely supplied with just 29" inside legs

if I changed the TDM it would be for a HONDA X4, oh yeah I've already got one of those, ah well if it ever sold and I hope it doesn't, then I'd replace it with the latest model of the APRILIA PEGASO 650 and I don't care if the fence doesn't grow any higher
