Hi Guy,  I'll shortly be selling my T plate 1999 MkII TDM 850 and I'd like to know how much to ask.

No photos yet, but they'll be taken over the weekend, it scrubs up well, reason for sale, just got a 900 Tracer..

Description

  • 1999 TDM MkII 850 yellow
  • 48k miles, used daily, runs sweet.
  • Good condition for year, age related marks, just cosmetic.
  • Recent service, carbs balanced and valve clearances checked (all good)
  • Heated grips
  • LED Spotlights
  • Delkevic 2-1 exhaust recently fitted (road legal)
  • New battery
  • New front tyre, both tyres good
  • New rear brake pads
  • MOT April, but will put 12 months on.
  • Rack and Givi top box
  • Haynes manual

Any ideas how much I should ask?

You could try the suppository though it's a lot out of date now! Even if not ya could add yours in once sold.

Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.

Thanks for that, eBay was a good shout, there is a massive variation for that model how does around the £1250 mark sound? I'll put some pictures of it up this weekend.

There is a similar one that is a couple of years older, but fewer miles sold for £1250, so I'm using that as a ruler.

When I looked last night there was a 2000 or 2001 for £1650 where ever you decide to sell it ask a nadge more than what you want cos at the end of the day you could ask £100 for something that has no miles so brand new ish kept in a heated garage but instead of thinking what a bargain some muppet will offer you £50 for it.

So think about what you want for it and just put abit extra on it enough to come down to your desired prics but not enough to scare people off.

Wont work so well on here though cos everyone can read this  ,but good luck with your sale.

I paid £1500 for a 2000 4TX with 21k miles with heated grips and delkevic 2:1 and fresh mot, invoices showed £1400 spent on it in the last 200miles (over 2 years), I could have probably got it a bit cheaper if I had gone through the auction process but made an offer on a whim based on another I'd looked at, still chuffed with it.

You will always find someone that is willing to pay a little more for a bike in good condition, ask a fair price for it.

I wouldn't sell my 4tx if I was offered 2500, mines in really good condition and well maintained, don't know where I'd start to look to replace it with something else

Will do, It's going for an MOT on Friday so it will have 13 months 3rd April 2021.

I'm thinking of asking £1500 I'll polish it up and photograph it on Saturday.
