I hope the weather's good for the ride back and the bike's got hand warmers! Good luck, I'm sure you'll enjoy being in the company of the more sophisticated and discerning TDM owner tongue.gif

Looking forward to meeting you Mark but not looking forward to saying goodbye to the bike!...I've got a good feeling she's going to a good home though.

I don't see why it would be a problem for the helmet...as long as it fits in the overhead locker but remember that it willl count as your one peice of hand luggage. When i returned from Canada i brought a helmet back as hand luggage but that was with a different carrier mind. I suppose you'll be travelling in all your gear and just putting the helmet in a bag in the locker?

Probably ok with Helmut on internal flight but worth checking.

Coming back from Aus I checked with airport and they said DEF NOT as handluggage.....when I flew the next day I put it in a bag and took it on as handluggage! .....errr so actually maybe it aint worth checking.

I flew from Dublin to Aberdeen to collect my Mk2 and I brought my tail-bag with the lid, gloves and tootbrush and they had no problem with that. APW

Have you ever lent someone 20 quid and never seen it again? It was probably worth it.

Long Loved TDM is no longer with me...

Yes Chris she's going to a good home! I've had my 850 away camping with my son and had a great time. Got a Lands End to John O'Groats (via Scilly Isles and Shetland Isles) planned for the summer!

Yes, it will be interesting travelling in my full lined 'Scott Leathers' textile suit, plus boots of course. LOL if it was white I could claim to be the Stig!, ha ha, maybe I'm the first Stig who was in all black!

Anyway I'm going to take my lid, which I've got an Arai fluffy bag for, stuff my gloves and thermals inside my lid and hope for the best!

Chris, is it ok to leave the standard exhaust with you and collect it when we drive up to Aberdeen at the end of March?

Also Chris can you tell me which model of top box it is? I'd like to buy a backrest for it and Tony_Tony is selling one on here, it's for E450 and the E470 topboxes, is this the same type?

Cheers
Mark

Your lucky day mate!...top box already has backrest fitted, see pics below. I've included one with my helmet in, kinda gives you an idea of the size.

As for the leaving the standard cans 'till March...no probs. I can't guarantee i'll be at home when you next pass through but we'll sort something out, dinnae worry.

It's a Yam touring screen cut down so the edge is flush with the bikes' top fairing. On top i've mounted the standard screen using the original mounting holes and raked it forward so it's relatively high up but still allows air flow underneath. In warmer weather the chopped-down touring screen was perfect for me, no buffetting just constant clean air. With the setup as it is now it gives much more protection and gives no buffetting for me either (i'm 6ft 1"). To make it a bit tidier the s/s bolts i've used could be cut down once you've decided the amount of adjustability you need.
