Helooo everyone...it's been awhile...and I'm back with some off-rd stories... rolleyes.gif

Ok...the 1st ride of this year...after the wedding,no honeymoon due to "reservist",so...honeymoon postponed to Feb or March...or later..so,to kill the pain...an unplanned ride..

so just 2 days before the ride, since some of the other big trailies have plan to do a 2days 1 night camping trip to Endau Rompin in March,so i thought, why not do a recce..however,they are going to different part of Endau.
As i still recall back then on 2002 when my 1st time did the Endau,i thought...i could somehow remember the route...which i tried doing it again last 2yr which is on Dec with some friends on a proper dual sported bike, but the flood have only make the ride unsuccessfull.
So back to the ride..
The plan is to meet at 7am,which change to 8am.somehow,the 3 of us only able to gather ard 945am at Gelang Patah town for breakfast.

We moved off at 1030am from the highway,to small roads..halfway there,we got stopped for speeding on a trunk road which speed limits is only 90km/hr....The cops told me that I was doing 119km/hr,Gilbert,another Carpedian also got with the same speed, and another friend on the yellow 900 at 109km/hr...
Bollocks...however,we have to settle it like a gentleman...small token,and we're off without the summon...sigh...

Ok,pictures...
So we stopped here at this point to decide which fuel stop to take.

We stopped at Kahang Shell station for some snacks and drinks. It's about 12pm.we have clocked 180km at this point from where we started.

Somehow, cash flow is alittle low due to the small token given to the stoopid cop...So we have to seek ATM for help.

We saw just a walking distance, there's a stall selling food..and the other 2 fella was hungry...So we settled there for lunch.

We were very surprised and shock to see a monitor lizard,at the restaurant itself..I thought it was fake..until it moves...

The restaurant owner said there were 2 of them..they are harmless...and they attracts customer..

We ordered our foods.

Well..i just have Nasi Goreng Kampong(village styled fried rice)..tasted good actually..

We finished our foods, and rode another 10km to the entrance of Kampong Peta,Endau Rompin.

This is where the real ride begans...

I can't recall the time we start the dirtride...maybe it's around 2pm.

It was very dusty...

It was alrite for me as i have dual sport tyres on,but the other 2 fella, the have street tyres...not forgetting, the 3 of us have our missus at the back..

We have a great start so far except for some unexpected on-coming jeep or trucks...few near missus.
Some of the areas are rocky, gravel uphills and downhills...

We stopped at this particular bridge...

Gilbert and wifey.

Me and wifey.(just married) tongue.gif

And again,focus on this bridge.
This is last Sunday.

See how tall is tat bridge.

ok...now,this is 2yrs ago somewhere in December where it flooded badly that it cut links to get to Kampong Peta.
right infront where i stopped,is the bridge on the above picture...infront,is totally filled up with water.no land sighted.so i turn back.

The whole area was total underwater.. ohmy.gif

imagine if you suddenly get push by the current and went out of the path..serious **** i tell ya...

After few shots for the camera...we moved on.This trucks seen a few moving in and out of the track...with dust, and soft sands,it's easy to get slammed or be slammed by this trucks. As i have the better advantages of the tyres and experience off-roading...I got to wait for them at a certain distance and managed to take out the camera and shoot them.Well, not fantastic shot actually..think Gan's girlfriend did even better job behind the back seat taking photos of us... rolleyes.gif Well, usually my wife would snap the photos at the back seat...but right after the start, she never loose her grip on my jacket and hug me so tightly that i almost fainted... dry.gif She was hoping to see paradise....but instead...she have to suffer 100odd km of hell... tongue.gif So,everytime i stop to wait for the guys,i have to do the camerajob...wat a luck... dry.gif Well...here's Ganto be continued....Stay tuned!!! tongue.gif

The route seems to be getting more or less difficult as we went further in..

Another stop to check on the arrow signboard...getting closer..

Now we're at the 40km mark.so left another 14km...

I let the guys past through 1st so i could snap their photo.

But unfortunately,as i was still on my bike and holding my camera with the wife at the back,Gilbert suddenly dived to the ground and from where i was sitting, the sound is so much dramatic yet the visual.
I asked the wifey to get down as i run to Gilbert.

He is already standing and checking on his wife when i am still running...They seems to be okay but suffered some bruises and scratches on the arm.no bleeding..thank god.I helped gilbert lift up his fallen TDM.

At this point of time,Gan was already out of sight...he was somewhere up the hill and still going i supposed...so i told Gilbert, his wife and mine to stay here while i go chase the other fella.

He was'nt anywhere to be found up the hill...So i ride on ahead...did stop at this little bridge which i thought would do a good bikeporn photos...

Ok,times-up...gotta to continue the mission to chase Gan...now where the hell is he?i think i've covered about 5km.

Finally i saw him sheltering himself under a three with his gf.

Relay the info about Gilbert's mishap and that we have to U-turn.

A short video-run back to gilbert captured by Gan's gf,Mabel.be warned...turn down the volume.alot of windblast.
video1
video2
video3

Now back with Gilbert.

A check at his gear shifter...alittle loose.

Tightened the screws..and we figure out what could have caused the fall...I believed his rear road tyre slides as he trottle up on some loose gravel and tar that it slides the rear wheel. Results,a broken signal cover, scratches on the right fairings, and a lot of bodyache.

During this time,my stomach starts giving problems...It's begining to grumbling like a washing machine...i fell the urge to let a big one go..but becoz of the nature of the situation,i have to control myself..must have been the food i consumed earlier on...I jumped around abit and took alot of photoshots around this area to make myself not focusing on the bad stomach... unsure.gif

Lun

The new transalp700 was very impressive...but the price tag,is madness...a brand new one costing at SGD$21k.I would prefer a personal review instead of those magazine reviews..some are crap.

well...at first,i almost deal with a very superb condition Vara1k with all the accessories needed..pretty much ride and go bike...But,during the long consideration,on why must i have 2 big bikes...It was sold early this morning.

So,rite now,i am looking at transalp650.not a good deal though..very pricey for a used with milege that already 95k.SGD$8.5k inclusive of everythg such as transfer and insurance...and heard that it has gone through an accident that its whole front end has to be replaced.the good thing,it has been replaced with Africa Twin whole front end..it looks taller..more to my liking...i was'nt concern bout the accident, more concern on the engine.Thought this would be a good project adv bike for me if i were to do 2 ups...It's got the H&B sideracks, which would be ideal for the transfer of my alu sidecases from the TDM...the XRR is just good riding solo on more serious stuff...with 2ups,i am killing my 2 testicles man...

Haven't tried that thing...i have rode and owned an Africa Twin in the past.some people say the feeling is much the same.except lighter and about 10km/hr slower.

Well...other than this...hmm...ok...there's this FMX650 sitting on another bikeshowroom..with little milege of only 3500km.about 6mth old bike. The owner was an expat and have to leave the country...this one for the machine price only is SGD$10.5k...inclusive of everythg should be SGD$11.5k.which i thought quite a good deal as a brand new ones would cost slightly above SGD$16k.

So...yeah..basically,this are the 2 options that is left...one is a V-twin smooth trailie, the other was a street holigan big bore single supermoto...which i could turn it to afv bike smehow...same engine as the domi...so basically,it will last for a long time...

So Lun...what you suggest eh?

Thanx fellas..Ok,let me continue and finish with the story.Looking at the situation and the time, which is now already 4pm and we're still 40km inside the jungle,i made the decision that we head out and not continue the remaining 14km.A friend once having trouble when they went in last month during the raining season on a DR650,KTM950adv and a strom. They were still inside at 4pm when the Vstrom rider crash hard and dislocate his elbow or something and was carried out by the help of a passing jeep. And he said on the way out,the bridge you saw earlier, flooded and they stranded there till nightfall...In this tropical jungle,it could get very dark.Somehow, the ride back seems to be more faster than coming in...One reason, the missus got to go to the loo...we managed to reach the entrance within 50mins.So now, back at the petrol station earlier on.All dusty alright... rotflmmfao.gif The machines. It's about 5.30pm and we got to rush before it's dark.Definately by the time we reach the highway it will be dark. From here,it's about another 150km to reach the border of Malaysia-Singapore.We refueled. And we're off...twisty trunk roads for about 60km...before the highways.

hahhaa... damn it, i got spotted for my bald tires! apparently, that was the main reason of my fall i assume, as i felt that the front skid when i was moving off.. tongue.gif
was planning to change the tires soon, but the heart was stronger than the mind, so i still went ahead even before i change my tires...
