Have bought a pair of Fuel Cans for my TDM9, stainless steel with removable baffles. Cost £248 +£10. Took about 30 mins to fit.

If you ask me they look better and definately sound better than the originals.

Looks good, but it also looks like the left can sits a bit lower than the right one...

Its at a slight angle - just need to adjust slightly.

Heh, yeh... they're a bitch to get right tho.

First you've got the distance from the wheel, horizontally. Then you've got the vertical height to get right, whilst not disturbing the horizontal alignment. All good, until you realise the ovals aren't lined up equally. *fiddle*. Perfect!? No! You then notice that one is shorter than the other as you've pushed one link pipe a little too far down relative to the other. Ok, fine! *fiddle*. All good? Length? Check. Oval alignment? Check. Horizontal alignment? Check. Vertical? FFS! Nooo!! From the beginning.....

Not that this has happened to me at all. No.

Be easier to fit a 2:1, no need to worry if they look balenced

Mine went on last weekend and I love the sound, plus they do seem to have a positive effect on how the bike rides - don't ask me to put my finger on it !!

My Mate fitted mine whilst his GF and I stood at the back telling him up a bit, left a bit etc etc ........

I'd love to put on some smart cans but every time I look at them they appear to mount higher than the originals and I have Yamaha panniers which don't sit very far above the original pipes.

Has anyone fitted aftermarket jobbies along with yam panniers?

Never have this problem - my Laser Duo Techs are easy to line up..........then the left one moves down and after a month I have to adjust the ba***rd thing again.

Laser Duo-Tech comes with extra brackets which gives room enough to Yamaha panniers...

They do look nice and they sound great but what else? In my mind that is great but are they fuel saving or do you get more bhp out of the bike? Are they in any way better than the orginal?

Aside from cosmetics, my experience was that they give a smoother throttle response and nicely reduced engine braking. I doubt there's a great deal of power gain.

When I had mine fitted I felt the top end was improved a bit (breathing more freely or something)
It didn't seem to affect fuel consumption. The sound level was perfect, not offensive but "enough"

G'day, Those look great, I'll be checking to see pricing to Oz. I've got a question that I suppose is a bit hard to answer,because everybody likes there own gear. I'm chasing a set of pipes that have a deep sound. I had a set of laser DeepTone (Pro) rings a bell, on my 850. When I bought my 02 900 I went for the far cheaper in Oz Staintune pipes. Now not wanting to offend anybody I didn't like them as much, I thought they sounded a lot more raspy and to loud for me without the baffle and a bit tinny with it.
How do the Fuel cans compare.

Fuel cans minus baffles sound rather throaty.. They've a very deep rumble to 'em. With the baffles, similar but considerably less low freq. It makes sense, cos the enlarged diameter of the aperture will encourage standing waves of a lower frequency, as will the extended length. Any can should be roughly the same, in that respect.
