I had a GS550E. You youngsters prolly wouldn't remember them,,,

Stu - I had a lovely GS550E for 2 years. It had a lovely stubby 4->1 and the sound off that bike was musical. It had a ding in the tank but back then it would have been ridiculous to even consider spending money which we didn't have on such a luxary as fixing a ding! I used to think it was a great handling bike and maybe it was compared to most bikes back then...but I loved it big time.
A few more interesting ones I had...YAS1, DT175 (2),IT175,X7,GS550E,CB900F2(2weeks) and then an RD400. The RD400 was picture perfect but had a dodgy crank-seal and couldn't pull the skin off a rice puddin'! ...oh yeah...and a KH400 which was another musical bike but had no 3rd gear.

My Pater still has a DT175, the first model with monoshock, DT125 forks & a Stan Stevens tune. Still gets ridden on the road & occasional trail ride, brilliant little bike. The first pillion ride I can remember was on the back of his brand spanking RD400. I can remember it because I nearly came off the back as he wheelied through the gears over the crests on the Gibbet Road in Northumberland.
He now tells me to be sensible on the bike........ blink.gif
