Finally got the Super Tenere hand guards fitted on to my TDM. Fair ammount of trial and error and a little modification.

poor pics but here goes (will try and get some daylight ones this weekend).

price of the Super Ten guards was £12.40 each!!!

So after adding the VAT and 3.80 for each bracket it came to £38 for the set.

Too much snow has stopped me getting a proper trial yet, will update when I get a decent ride in.

Sorry for slow reply, just moving house and it's a mad time!!!

Bought the guards from my local Yamaha dealer. Long story but was bascially asking around local shops for some guards and Yamaha dealer had a super Tenere in the shop and they look like they might fit so ordered them - just a standard Yamaha spare. I'm guessing any Yamaha dealer should be able to get them - took mine about 5 days to arrive.

Mods were a bit of a trial and error phase as had nothing to work from. Will try and get some more pics done as hard to describe in words. Basically Super Ten guards are designed to fit onto wing mirror, bit they have a sort of riser insert between handlebar and mirror so I took the mirror apart and attached it about 1 inch up - as I say pics and a better explanantion to follow. We still have 6 inches of snow in our drive and Ice on road so not even had a chance to drive it yet - luckily removal men were happy to put the TDM in their lorry! nice men!

Finally got out for a spin today - and to summarise the guards - I Love Em!

Keeps the cold wind off my hand's and just feel nice riding with them on. Nice and solid even though I've only fitted them top and end (whereas the Super Ten attatches top and bottom and end). 2 bolts attach each bracket on top so fixed well and no chance of twist. Nothing touches on full lock, no touching or rubbing parts

Here's some pics....









After much trial and error fitting, I would say if I started again with the supplied parts it would only take an hour. Drill and tap the bar ends as discussed on here before. drill out the brackets that connect to mirror to 13mm, take mirror stantion apart, put back together with bracket in middle (as shown in last photo) and bolt all together. They clear the choke on the left and brake reservoir on the right easily. I did unfortunately try bending and reshaping the brackets first thinking I might be able to get them to miss the brake reservoir by attaching at the bottom of the mirror but was not possible, so I have to admit even though I tried to bend them back to original shape, my brackets are not as they were originally but I've bent them to how I want the guards to fit, height and angle wise, so you may or may not have to do this - I can't remember how they were shaped when I bought them.

You don't happen to know the part numbers do you. These look by far the best i've seen so far, and sound the easiest to fit.

Mine turned up today at the local Yam dealers. Part No's are:
Hand-guards - 23P-26142-00 & 23P-26142-00.
Top brackets - 23P-26224-00 & 23P-26223-00.

Any yam dealer should be able to order them now, also there are other parts such as the top hat washers for the handlebar end fixing, and various bolts if you can't be bothered finding alternatives in your bit box.
I fit mine on a 900, no problems apart from having to turn the throttle housing around so the cables exit below the handlebars now. will post pics if anyone wants them.
