Hi all, weather's crap init?!

To my point; I've been spending some time over the olidees re-assembling my 'spare' 3VD to while away the time that should be spent doing something productive...apparently!! Whilst cobbling the parts back together, to hopefully resemble a motorcycle, I've decided to do the airbox rubber mod that Mr Dapleb pioneered some time ago. I can't bare just plonking the airbox back on again. Please could you tell me where I can get hold of the silicone hose to do the job? Not had much luck so far.

The amass of parts will be for sale soon if anyone is interested. Not pretty but it'll be cheap and the motor is peachy. Would make a great winter bike/engine donor/boat anchor etc...

Anyhoo, I'd like to mod the rubbers for piece of mind and do the right thing so a heads up on the silicone hose hunt would be good, thangyouverymuch, EP

Thanks for the input fellas. I've now managed to track down the 60mm hose required from a local company advertising on ebay. If I make a complete arse of it I'll milk the cows for free...

Job done. The blue stuff is very soft n grippy, works very well. 4 jubilee clips, 1 top and bottom after cutting off the 5mm ish of the airbox rubber skirt. I bought a metre of the stuff from a local company called Hypose here in Southampton. I have a lot left over and am considering passing it on for a small fee in 10cm lengths if anyone is interested...

By the by, I opened this link, as I want to do the Dapleb/Monkey Boy Manuever/Process/Modification myself, and I note that the particular material of the referred to hose is NOT suitable for Oils\Fuels. They recommend Fluoro Lined Silicone Hose. FYI.

Thats good to know, will check moine next time in dare.  The way I made mine the silly-cone only clamps to ootside of carb and orig wubber bits butt up against top of carb so non of silly-cone should be exposed but def still worth chicken.

Your are right about the tube I bought. You shouldnt pass a flow of fuel through it.

However its been fine for over a year, under the air box, no deterioration so no fuel coming back out of the carbs I guess.
