Hi, virgin member here B-)

I need your advice on which 17" front wheel to use for my 2001 Mk2 850?

I have bought a Thundercat wheel (in haste) thats totally wrong (cable speedo on T'cat, electronic speedo on my TDM)

Can you help me and let me know if there is a wheel out there that fits so that the original speedo can still be used?

Thank you in excited expectation.

I don't see how you can continue using the same speedo with a smaller wheel. Unless you fit a speedhealer or similar.

Thanks for your reply and pointing out the speedo inaccuracies. Would you know the answer on what wheel would suit?

Regards, Warren

i could offer a possible solution, a fully programmable speedo with this would over come the speedo inaccuracies when using a different wheel size. The company i work for designs and manufacture gauges.

But it would be an extra expense. not much change from £200 http://www.smithsspeedos.co.uk/

Why not stick a few pointers on the speedo at 30, 50, 60 and 70 mph? Did that on my Buell when I swapped the (very tall) European gearing for the US gearing, nearly 10 years ago. No issue for MOT, all that is needed is a working instrument that measures speed - even one scaled as furlongs per hourglass should pass ;)
