HI, I am wondering whether my clucth is requiring replacement. If i jump the clutch or am a bit heavy on the clutch  a bit, i get a chirp noise , changes are currently smooth and i have no problems selecting gears. No ever having had a clutch wear ona bike, i am wondering if the noise is a sign of wear or adjustment required? Its coming up to 22k and will be serviced shortly, maybe shims checked to.

Any advice please.

Thanks,

Marc

Drop the clutch on a 900 and you will get a scream. Nothing to worry about

I am presently researching a clutch noise but different from above. Intermittently there's a rattly rumble, Initial thoughts are the springs to the rear of the clutch basket.
No clutch slip or performance loss just the rattle. Mileage app 45k

Mine did it from new. You should hear a Ducati Monster with a dry clutch do it

Mine had the same problem and the basket springs were shot - Dealer replaced them under warranty

Nah - they were the cush springs behind the basket - part of the basket - they take the uneven firing pulses of the crank to avoid gearbox chatter

TeDeums clutch on his 850 rat-bike can be very vocal at times as well.I think he said he enjoys the company  :dunno:

Have you ever lent someone 20 quid and never seen it again? It was probably worth it.
