You need to save it as a GPX file and then upload it to the GPS

On a similar subject, I have downloaded the Monschau routes and tried to send them to my Nuvi via Garmin Basecamp and

they just appear as a list of stop offs in "favourites" not in "routes", how do I set it to cover the route from start to finish?

In words of one syllable please!

Chris in Basecamp  click on the route and recalculate each one so a route is generated when finished highlight the routes then drag them to you Nuvi which you should have connected first.

For a challenging summer try the

Sounds if your Nuvi dont accept "routes". Check on the Garmin site if your model accepts routes. If in the specs it says Routes = 0 then you can not import as a route. You'll have to hop from one waypoint to another

I checked the specs and it can store 100 routes, I'll try that TYRE software, that might do it!

Thanks

Have you ever lent someone 20 quid and never seen it again? It was probably worth it.

I use Tyre to plan the waypoints, download to Garmin device then 'import route' as described in the faq link. This prouces the desired route.

There is no 'import route' option

Have you had a look at the Garmin site frequently asked questions, try a search for your model number and it will tell you if it supports routes.

I finally got around to checking this out. I installed TYRE for Windows. I downloaded the GPX files Matt101 had listed onto my PC and saved them. Then started TYRE and opened the GPX file, it displays with the map and details. Then i clicked the Garmin option and saved it to my Garmin 2445 which took about 10 seconds.

Next disconnected the Garmin and powered it up, select 'Apps', select 'Trip Planner' and the 3 MonsGar files appear. Select the Trip and away you go!

Cheers

APW
