For everyday recording I find GoPros are too bulky and a poor profile for using on a motorbike, so I've finally found a use for my cheap £10 mini DV05 camera. I simply used a patch of 3M Dual Lock on my helmet chin and camera and it locks on fine--3M Dual Lock is like the releasable cable tie, a multi-use, genius, must have item to keep under the seat IMO. The other bit of velcro is to muffle wind noise over the mic.

Here's a clip I shot earlier today. The beep is aimed at the woman who kept creeping out, despite my indicating to move left for my exit.

These are great little cameras - really clear! what size of car you using? Be worth while canging the date if you're gonna use it in any evidence :P

Car? The date can't be changed. It keeps going back to 2008 (I've tried all the fixes and they just revert), not that it matters really, date stamps are no proof or anything. I'm surprised that ignition linked 'black box' cameras haven't yet become standard on one of the high end bikes.

oh, using an 8gb (common or garden microSD). It's good for an hour or so of video. Never tested how long the battery lasts. It's never gone flat on me on a run so far.

@Nav18tor

The one I'm using is about 4-5 years old, so I don't know if they're still around. This one is very close to what the one I've got and it's the same company, who're very reliable.

If I was buying now I think I'd get one of these though. In fact for the price, and with motion detection, I think I've talked myself into it

I've been using one of these for the last few years. Fairly sure I got mine direct from China for much less than this one.

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item5667334b79

The remote lens is mounted under the headlights so is very discreet, the camera itself in the top box. It records 2 files, 1 from each lens; obviously the video from the remote lens is the only one that's useful with this setup! Powered straight from the bike and left in place permanently, tried battery DVRs and couldn't get on with having to charge all the time, plus my commute is too long for most of them. Video quality is only average, but more than good enough to pick out car number plates which is what I want it for.
We're all going to die, so let's be nice.
