Is there a difference between ABS and none ABS pads?

Funny that, never had a problem with Goldfren on the 9r, lots of peeps dislike though.


Bigred mk1 R1 Calipers- Braided lines- Givi wing rack-Crash bungs- Hi vis bullets-PR2's- and a hoot to ride.

Quad 900 Silver Laser duo tech pipes-Scott oiler-Engine crash bars- Radiator mounted see me ring LED's-Datatool system 3 alarm -Centre stand- Extender fender-Renthal bars-Handle bar risers-Mirror extenders-BMW GS Handgaurds-Acumen uprated horn & Nautilus-Stainless steel Radiator guard-Givi wing rack-OEM screen-Yammy touring screen-MRA Vario-MRA Double bubble cut down for fast as fk riding-Tiger screen-Tank protector-Stomp grip panels-Optimate lead

 

1991 MK1 in need of some TLC watch this space  :) Sorted and on the Road Mick :P :P it's the bike that Jack built ;)

Funny that, never had a problem with Goldfren on the 9r, lots of peeps dislike though.

My personal findings:

Goldfren good

Armstrong very not good
"Whats up", "Piston Broke", "Yeah me too...hic"

Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.

Active member of TPLQHCSRSFC and TSRMCMAS (even though a year off) and avid fan of PM not sent.

When I ordered Yamaha oe pads from different retailers they were different thicknesses! I decided to fit them anyway which may be a dumb thing to have done - they are certainly now rubbing a bit. And Brembo pads for the rear were also too thick. So, I would be careful about getting the right part number...

Yeah, some suppliers seem to think FJ1300 pads are the same but they're a good bit thicker than 9'er wans.


Mk2a 2000 in Silver. Top end Refurb @ 41100 miles, Scottoiler, Renthal Road High Bars, Up & Back Bar Risers, Bellypan, DL650 Handguards, Capt. But is'nt that the rear pads !! or front as well, i'm looking and i have Silverspots off a fjr 1300..

No idea tbh. :lol:  Might well be the older FJ, just seem to remember someone buying FJ pads and they were too thick.

Think fronts are the same, Banska bistrica, driven through many times in me truck....

 

I've noticed all Goldfren pads are carbon ceramic, at least them on ebay.... anyone used Kyoto !!
