My hot grips have only worked on low power only since I've had the bike so I had a little peek inside the cotroller, it seems the tctile switches that do the +/- have given up, I can get a new controller for about £26 but I searched for tactile switches, £1.45 for 10! Guess which way I'm going.....

So if anyone else has the same issue I will have 8 switches of the right height spare, they look like a fairly straight forward soldering job.

Good luck fixing it. Hope you get it sorted.

I ended up having to pay for a new controller. Bummer!

Yep I bought the controller too, but in fairness the buttons and associated internals were just a mass of rust! Good luck and keep us updated..

Mine don't look too bad inside but it definately worked shorting across the buttons so a switch change should do it, I tried brake cleaner through it but no change.

mine packed up this year, sorted it, found that one of the terminals inside the plugs had pushed out,

worth pulling the plugs to see if everything's in place

:good:

£1.45 and it's fixed! Woohoo!

I can now set the power up and down no problem, I'm still not planning on riding in the cold though so I probably actually wasted £1.45........ :unsure2:

Let me know if you want a couple of the buttons.
A solder sucker makes life easier getting the old one off the pcb.
