Upper engine bars which protect the bike's side fairing panels. Seem to be quite rare, haven't seen anyone else with these bars fitted.
Can work in combination with some other crash bars and bungs - I had mine fitted along with the standard OEM yamaha lower engine bars on the same front mounting points as per pictures. Don't believe they came with an instruction sheet, but assembly is fairly obvious as you can see from the pictures.
