Side Panel Repair

Hello peeps

Trying to get what the repair in the photos is,I think its plastic weld... mesh...and more plastic.

It looks ok but panel not lined up flush before repair so want to re do it.

Just want to know if I am right.Thanks

The panel is not TDM it has a crack in it the crack is not lined up.

What I am after is what the repair is.

I did similar repairs on some KLE fairing parts. Plastic flyscreen mesh and araldite.  You may be able to lift it with a scraper, it would be a lot of work.  Another option could be to use a blade to cut the mesh following the crack. The adhesive is probably in the actual crack but the bodywork should be flexible enough to break the adhesive if it is gently flexed.  Good luck.

Looks very similar to thin aluminum repair mesh from Halfords & possibly Isopon P40 filler as the holding agent, I used both repairing the side panels on my 850.


<p> Now Sold 😔......850 MK2A 4TX6 in Silver, Stainless steel hand rolled slip on end can, stainless 2into1 headers, K&N air filter, Hagon progressive front springs, Gdogg modified rear shock, Else Made "Ridgeback" Gel Seat, Gdogg under seat fender extender, Powrspark leads, Carbon fiber effect vinyl wrap fairing decals & logos, Michelin Pilot Road2's, V-Strom hand guards, Givi monorack & box (colour matched side rails).
