1994 3VD. 16500 miles, all standard engine. (ipaq satnav/nonfango box)

Right, been on here before to ask about rough running and plugs coking up, went into emulsion tubes and stuff. Im now using my TDM to go to work every day and it's become a pain. In brief: Runs fine when opening the throttle wide but when trying to cruise or sift through traffic it feels and sounds like the choke is fully on (it's not). misfire and lumpy.

From full to empty, not reserve, empty i'm getting 116 miles. ranting.gif

I now want to entrust my precious bike to a mechanic I can trust not to completly mess it up.
I'm in Wokingham Berkshire, and not far from Hampshire or Surrey.

You guys know anyone to sort this out please.

i'm now living in Wokingham too, not far from the station

in Reading I use Steve at Keith Mannings.

Black 1991 850 MK1, 160k+ miles(ish, best guess really, gave up trying to keep count after 3rd set of clocks and 3rd engine), PilotRoad2 tyres, custom stubby exhaust system, bluespot calipers & goodridge braided hoses with dunlopads, maxton forks, Ohlins shock, kedo handguards, stainless TDM grill, Scottoiler with lubetube & dual nozzle thingy, Givi Wingrack2 with E45 & 2xE36s, renntec crash bars, Autocom with blueteeth & PMR radio, TomTom Rider2, Optimate IIIsp, Bagster tank cover, anti-dazzle coating

so that dont help much dry.gif

couldn't recommend anywhere apart form Gordon Farley, but they in Ash, nr Aldershot.


did you fit emulsion tubes then?

How long since fitting them did this start?

and how far you going to work? (Do know some people who 'commute' 2 miles on bike.... that aint nice to engines)

Never got to fit the tubes, me not a bike mechanic, hence the asking. Im doing 36 miles a day in 4 runs, as in coming home for lunch.

This has gotton worse since it was serviced in November time. It went in as it was running a bit rough.
The name on the invoice was 'Steve Thompson' 370 Reading Road, which I thought up to looking at this now was indeed Keith Manning.
Are we talking about the same dealer? The one behind Edmounds Exhaust place.

Trot on down with Tomeski to Mannings

Get some Factory Pro tubes fitted would be my 1st recommendation, they are a well known issue

(maybe I outta get you and ChrisG round and get you to do them both together, solve your problem and get him to do his, which have been on the cards for a while! It aint too hard a job, its the stripping everything off thats an arse)
Done: Homo sap navigation/ twisty thing on bars to make it go vroom/ grabby thing to make it stop (in front of twisty thing)/ 'leccy things front and rear to make it glow at night/ Sucky + drippy oiler thing to keep chains moist (!!) / Laser Pro Stock Race pipes / bleeding ear drums (see previous mod)
To do: Educate homo sap nav system to operate twisty + grabby things/ get ear plugs

All Trashed Now... Pants... its a Cat B Mwahahaha it lives again!!

I have to work every other weekend so guess what? Im off this weekend but working the weekend 15th June
Off every Thursday though

Things changed today too. Took the bike this morning, on the way home she is now badly misfiring/stalling/spluterring and running rough as hell and I now longer trust her.

Im gonna ring K/Manning in the morning and book her in as this wont wait. sad.gif

However, would still like to meet up and share tdm's so keep me informed on what were going to do chaps.
I'll let you know what Mr Manning says in the morning

Thanks for that, Right then, plan B. Your right on the plugs, they are fouling up within 100 miles, put some new ones in Tuesday when I had a look to see if the choke was stuck open.

I'll try that link and order the tubes. Might as well get these in for our Pit day or Mr Manning

Day off today, what the hell to do without my bike!

Been looking around this morning and found this TDM on ebay. Whats interesting is what he says about the emulsion tubes and revs, exactly the same issue as me.
