no worries brudda, pop over anytime
couldnt get front wheel sorted today so will have to do that when i'm in Reading on Tuesday

popped into MPS today, dunno what the feck is going on there but they didnt even have a 525 chain in stock blink.gif
loads of sprotsbike bling but nothing of any substance
was saved by Motorcycle parts centre in Reading yet again
who not only had the chain (o,x&HDx ring), but multiple sizes of rear sprockets, front sprocket nut&washer, spare footpegs(choice of colour, length material etc) and kappa bulbs instock and on the shelf

steak munched, finish me glass of wine and.... to the garage.....

new pegs mated to old mounts


indicators fitted, had to make the bulb mounts and wiring
rear wheel with new bearings, cush rubbers, disc and sprocket
rear break caliper cleaned up and fluids changed (was seized like a bassid, spent ages trying to get pistons moving and avoiding having to strip it down)


old front wheel fitted as other in boot of car waiting for new valve and balancing


tomorrow will get the thing off the bench, fit oil filter, fill her up with 710 and see if she fires!

A quick couple of easy questions - what's the weight rating of your workmate and how will you get the bike down? biggrin.gif

I guess I should be out doing this now but I'm waiting to see if the monoshock's any good (no point in wasting time/money if it aint sad.gif)

i used the workmate in the same way when i rebuilt my XTZ and thats 50kg heavier
its an old black&decker bench but very sturdy, was a freebie from Ray and its atleast 30years old laugh.gif

1 person steadies the front of the bike, 1 holds the rear and the other presses the clips either side(being very careful not to loose their fingers) and hey presto the bike is on its wheels cool.gif
just waiting for me neighbour to gimme a hand

the bike is obviously off the bench laugh.gif and it has oil good.gif
but the GF has decided she wants to paint the exhaust headers black so they are drying
chain and sprockets fitted

and i've realised i havent ordered a number plate yet! doh!

Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.

Hi Tony, nice handguards you got there, don't leave the bike parked up too close to my gaf, they might go missing LOL
I think I can get the black reflective vinyl from my suppliers, which means i can cut stickers and lettering from it COOOOO, LUVERLY cool.gif

the handguard took the brunt of it against the bigger bench upright and then i just rolled it forward

engine changed july 2007 on a dyno run it made 79.1BHP / Torque 59.9Had a brief flirtation with a 1999 MKIIa but it blew an exaust valve on the M5 so was sold on to be repaired.
