Following feedback from some Carpedians & AZZA in particular I have made some improvements(hopefully) to the original screen.

Thanks for the update Aaron. I had been thinking that maybe the TigerScreen required a little tweaking about a month before you sent me your last post but just didn't have the time or inspiration to get to it. I agree with your observations having tried your shorty version as per your photo & was surprised at it's effectiveness, I guess about 80% of the tall screen. I've come up with a new shape that after nearly 1000km test over the weekend I believe has proven to be a better all round solution. It's still taller than your shorty but much shorter than the original & has a more sporty appearance. Due to it's new shape there's much less flex & wobble & therefore less stress on the mounting points which you'll notice I've also changed. There's the potential for cracking if the screws "dig in" to the countersunk Holes so by adding these nylon washers top & bottom that issue should be eliminated. I recommend existing TigerScreen owners buy & fit some asap just to be on the safe side. You'll need 8, one either side of the screen for each screw hole.





Based on past measurements this screen should cover all riders between 174 & 184cm in height with only infrequent need to look through the screen. Being smaller shipping will also be a little cheaper. So..... improvements all round which hopefully TDMers will be happy with.
Price is $170 AU , 111GBP or 124EURO current shipping to UK & Sth Europe is ~ 48.75 GBP or 55 Euro.

Can you put up pics of the original, and Azza's 'shorty' for comparison?





I was wondering at the weekend if there was any way of mounting wind deflectors for the handlebars on the fairing, like the Deauville has....

Toraneko, you seem to be the plastics, guru, any comments?

Without seeing the two screens side by side:

It looks like you have taken the original screen and, without changing the bottom section, you have redesigned (cut down) the top section for a lower profile.

Is this correct?

If so, can you develop a template with the new profile ( in paper or in an electronic form) or some such to email to the original screen owners if they wish to emulate your feat and cut thiers down?

I love the orignal screen but it does take over the front of the bike with its large foorprint

edit: where do you get the nylon washers - Bunnings or similar? My orignal ones are just about worn away.

Quite surprisingly, the rest of the bike doesn't look as filthy as it was... photo was taken during the locust plague, biblical, and the upper half was also covered in gnats. Silver Tech, the colour, hides grime very well.

I cut the original one down as an experiment and was going to play around with a light weight (pack away) screw-on/off top section, looking for the best of both worlds, but haven't gotten around to the top bit yet. Maybe when it starts getting cold here again; it's in the metric mid 30's today.

Not sure about the Guru bit. Personally I like to keep things as clean & simple as possible. For me V-Strom 650 hand guards do the job nicely & seem to tie in
very well aerodynamically with the TigerScreen.

Just so everyone knows The TDM Shield aka TigerScreen Mk2 is available for the TDM900. Price is $170 AU , 111GBP or 124EURO
current shipping to UK & Sth Europe is ~ 48.75 GBP or 55 Euro.

Even though the screen kit is $25 AU cheaper for those in Oz the GBP & Euro are weaker than before so doesn't help our Nth Bros'.

There's been a delay with developement of the Version to suit the 850 Mk2 as MotoBloke has been of ill health & he still has my prototype in his posession.
Haven't heard from him for over 2 months so I hope he's OK.
