Anyone know what the tyres are on that "adventure" 900? Look like hybrids - on standard wheels?

IIRC the MCN artical said they were Dunlop's, did not say which ones though.

I don't see the point of these acronyms on a forum, if you are using a medium where you are charged by the word or seconds are vital then they may have their uses but not here. smile.gif Just type what you want to say then there is no room for confusion.
TS50ER, Suzuki GT125, Cagiva 125, Suzuki GT250 20 year gap. Honda CBF600. Discovered the joy of TDM, 1974 GT250 has joined the stable
Vario touring screen, Stainless Steel Rad Guard, Fender Extender (it came off), Givi V46 Topbox (inc brake light), SW-Motech Engine Bars, Wingrack, LED Tail Light
Still in the shed:- BMW Hand Guards, Heated Grips, Aux Lamps.

Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.

Hope you're not having your lunch, I'm NIFOC*. What's Dunlop's hybrid tyre? They make that for an 18" front? Didn't think there was a hybrid tyre for the 900 front. Hence my post. Er... unsure.gif

The tyre fitted to the front of the bike in the picture is a rear Dunlop D604 (120/80-18). I sent an email to the local Yamaha distributor to find out whether they were approving the setup. I got a vague answer that did not say much although they said they did a Michelin setup as well with a Michelin Sirac front.

Thanks Mick, useful gen. I think some 850 guys have been using an Anakee rear with a Sirac rear fitted to the front and heard it suggested that the rear needs to fitted opposite way round for the front. I see AJ posted a thread abut the MT 90 scorpion being available for 18" rims - but its a 100 - sounds bit narrow?

Is there anymore info on what involved in the making of this bike? I am guessing it has grafted on Tenere parts, but I would like to know what can be done to replicate it.

My MCN email newsletter said today

"We'll also reveal Yamaha’s 2009 plans for a 1200cc adventure sportsbike."

but I couldn't find it on their site.... Anyone know what this is about? I do like the sound of an adventure sportsbike!!!
