Welcome.
Hard vs soft luggage tends to be very much a personal thing. I had throw over panniers for a while but much prefer my current givi setup as I can lock them and leave them on the bike, I was always paranoid about leaving soft luggage on the bike even if I'd only stopped for a coffee. Others prefer soft luggage because when they take them off there's no scaffolding attatched to the bike (I have a givi wingrack, it's huge, I don't care). Some hard luggage racks are more descrete than others, a great set of photos of various luggage racks on a 900 here http://www.carpe-tdm...?showtopic=7918.

1) Interesting - one of our former colleagues was in the traffic (bike) division and was obliged last year to back off from "fraternising" with the likes of us, despite being thoroughly professional at all times. No such unhelpful prejudice in your area, then?
2) Any chance of a linky there? Always worth spreading the word
3) Welcome, btw.

A very sad time for us all. He was a larger than life character and a great loss to many people. looks like there will be a few changes to the board when the mourning period is over.....
