Anyone fancy a blast out, one day next week end or one evening.

Either the Lakes, the Dales, the Whales or the Cat ?

Just pick a day when it is not raining.

Cheers, Ivan

I'm up for this, but can't do Saturday as I'm working. Pete had suggested the Trough of Bowland a while back in this thread. Sounds good to me.

Sunday should be good for me - I'll have to check with SWMBO (that's my SWMBO, not Pete's SWMBO. I'm sure Pete's wife, Claire, will let me go laugh.gif ). Trough of Bowland and then into the Dales gets my vote too. Chance to meet up with our Yorkshire brethren?

well done Ivan, 1000 hours sounds fine - (happy to start earlier if people want?)

I will bring map and suggest use the triumph-RAT rideout, with possible extensions, as rough base if people are happy (this is shown below for guide only as I am not sure if it is complete):

Tickled trout to Clitheroe then
 Towards Waddington
 Over Waddy Fell and onto Newton.
 Turning left in Newton village
 Towards Dunsop Bridge
 In Dunsop Bridge, turn right,
 Sign posted Trough of Bowland.
 Follow the road through the Trough
 To Caton, turning right along the A683.
 STOP AT BULL BECK PICNIC AREA - COMFORT BREAK.
 Leaving the lay-by look for B6480
 Towards Wray and Bentham
 At Higher Bentham turn right along Station Road,
 Takes you over Tatham Fell
 Drop down into Slaidburn
 From Slaidburn turn right at War Memorial and immediate left,
 Follow the road to Newton then
 Clitheroe

and back to T Trout

If it helps, I will draft something to bring along and post

My tank bag/top box will, as always, carry some coffee, cake and snacks (for personal use you understand). However, I could still be tempted by bacon/egg/sausage/cholesterol butty somewhere

If it rains, it keeps the traffic down so not a problem - but lets hope for some good weather like last weekend!

roll on

Pete

Only 6 more sleeps to go for me BS and I will be there as well!

Here is some high quality slow motion TV footage of the bottom of Barregarrow.

It shows how a modern superbike deals with the bumps and direction changes, vertical and horizontal, at race speeds

Apparently, in the dry, people like Hislop used to go through there without backing off in top (over 170 m.p.h?) bruising ribs on the tanktop.

http://www.youtube.c...feature=related

..............as you know, that section is pretty good fun on open roads as well!!!
