I wish all of these fookin techno wizards would just Fook off and leave stuff as it was.

Why do we need new versions of windows, BT Yahoo, and fookin phones that do fookin everything except have a fookin cancel button.

New versions of something that worked perfectly.

Bought a new car and it has a Auto dimming fookin mirror, that you cannot control.

Some Fookin Twat in a fookin design office got paid, to decide when I need to dim the fookin mirror !

Now its so dark I cannot see anything but head lights, what was wrong with a little lever to point the thing down.

BASATARDS ................... the fookin lot of them !

I find the auto tint rear mirror on our VW Jetta is quite useful, and if you don't want it on there is a small push button on the bottom of the mirror to switch it off.
However I dont know if it is the fact the Jetta has a boot, or the years of driving vans that I find the interior mirror is no use of parking.

BTW, the auto dimming mirror reminds me of the "Peril Sensitive Sunglasses" from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy:
Designed to help the wearer develop a relaxed attitude to danger. The lenses turn completely black at the first hint of trouble, thus preventing the wearer from seeing anything that might alarm him/her. (nicked from Wikipedia, which is on another of those annoying techie inventions, the Internet).

Don't have a car got a 'Plastic Pig' can't be more basic than that, got fed up with the kids always borrowing me huge Volvo Estate so sold it in a fit of pique when I wanted to use it no fuel new tyres needed so sold it same day.

And what about the wipers that do the four wipes and then out the blue comes another wipe and leaves a smear. Why can't I spray as much wash as I want and wipe as many times I it needs? Bastards.

I know what you mean about too much technology, Ivan. Our kit at work is getting far too complex for it's own good and becoming less reliable as a result.

thas why i roide a selection of older boikes (plus i'm too toight to down errr 'upgrade' ) all of our tree boikes are carb fed, and not very flash atall atall but still cut the mustard noicely enuf. even me billhilly pickup truck is 12 years old, basic 3.1 Isuzu lump with an 'analog' (mechanical) fuel pump and no ECU, no catholic convertor, no diesel particulate filter so not too much tech dare either apart from leccy windows anne central locking....... easy to run and fix if need be.

Just as well my mate is not on this forum, he's a Honda man, coz he would be ranting. The FI warning light on his ST 1300 comes on at 4500rpm or when the tank is 2/3rds full. New wiring loom, ECU checked, knock sensors checked, diagnostics doo hickey done etc. Light still comes on.... The current (s'cuse the pun) theory is that an electro magnetic charge is building up somewhere causing a fluctuation in the current to the ECU triggering the warning light or it is a build up of dark matter behind the dash or the bike needs an exorcism performed.
Oh, that reminds me. I still need to replace the speedo bulb on the TDM.
