Any hobby can be expensive, especially when the " bug bites" I used to clay shoot, alot that runs away with the cash!!
An aside -
But a fun way to spend an afternoon.
I'm probably the only member of Carpe to take comprehensive school Year 10 (15yo) students clay shooting.
Apologies to OP

20 gauge has less lead too but strangely much more expensive. We used to give girls Beretta AL391 semi automatic with a restriction in magazine so they could only put two in. 12 gauge has similar felt recoil to a 20, but full lead and cheaper on ammo.Normal ammo used. Did give a couple of the girls 20 gauge, similar firepower but less recoil as you will know.
All of them loved it.
