well i have been fitting a set of hand guards and been reading on here about turning down original bar end weights, machining grooves and the rest....

the handguards in question are these - worth a punt at that price i thought ... so started trying to line them up and had to bend the bar to get it to line up with the handlebar end - and have mated up the clamps on the inner handlebar (need to shorten the allen screws that came with them but that is another story)

what i was wondering was - if you look at the pictures here  will i have vibration problems if i go with the using the alloy fittings that came with the guards, or should i get the originals turned down a little (to take into account the thickness of the bracket)?

and thoughts welcome

I had a pair of them for a 450 husky as soon as any pressure went into the clamp that goes round the bar they snapped got replacements but never used them in the end didnt trust them.

If you use rawl bolts instead of the ally bar end fittings that will deaden the vibes a bit, been useing them for at least 20yrs off roading like that.
